Information about Pioneer Drive's Congregational Project
Pioneer Drive Baptist’s project is designed to foster 1) gratitude for the past; 2) faith for the present; and 3) hope for future possibilities. This past, present, and possibility framework informs the vocations of individual church members as well as the vocation of Pioneer Drive Baptist as a whole.
To encourage the congregation’s collective call to gratitude, Pioneer Drive Baptist will develop and conduct ongoing Bible studies on gratitude. The church will foster gratitude for the past by conducting interviews of church members. These interviews are connected to the larger work of producing a written and video history of the church—looking at how God has led the congregation in the past.
The faith for the present component involves teaching members to write and deliver gratitude letters. These members will then report back on the results to others in the church.
By reflecting with gratitude on both the past and the present, members will also develop hope for future possibilities. Through such activities as sermon series and Sunday school lessons, the project team will remind the church of where it has been and where it is in order to engage everyone in where Pioneer Drive Baptist is called to go.
