Information about FBC Amarillo's Congregational Project
First Baptist Church of Amarillo wants to deepen and enrich the lives of Christians by equipping them to discern and live out their callings, embracing Christian vocation as a way of life.
The church plans to develop and maintain a structure to help pre- and post-retirees (baby boomers) to engage relationally and vocationally with God, the church, and the community. This tool that works like an app, called the “exchange,” would pair church members who have needs with the gifts and skills of baby boomers. Through retreats, meetings, and other venues, the church wants to prepare baby boomers to be intentional about continuing their calling to lifelong service. These baby boomers would in turn encourage, assist, and disciple younger adults.
