Bethlehem Baptist Church
Information about Bethlehem Baptist Church
Bethlehem Baptist was originally organized in 1870. Under the leadership of Michael Evans (who was called to the church in 1991 and is a past president of the Baptist General Convention of Texas), the church has forged a missional identity as a congregation that cares about education of all kinds and is deeply invested in serving and supporting the community around them. The church has sent missionaries all over the world and has partnered with other local organization and churches to serve the world around them. A young congregation, the average age of church members is in the mid-twenties. At the same time, Bethlehem Baptist has recently completed a retirement community across the street from the church that will provide numerous possibilities for intergenerational ministry.

Information about Bethlehem Baptist's Congregational Project
Since its founding in 1870, Bethlehem Baptist Church has been called to love God and neighbor in Mansfield, Texas, and beyond. As it continues to respond to this calling, the congregation now seeks to be an instrument for social justice and racial reconciliation in its community. Specific activities aligned with this calling include hosting webinars, trainings, and other events that engage the larger community (including schools, law enforcement agencies, and local government). Bethlehem Baptist will reflect on what it learns through this project and will share its findings with the congregation (through preaching, discipleship programs, etc.) as well as churches elsewhere.
